About Denise DeMartino
AP® Chemistry

After graduating with a degree in biochemistry Denise DeMartino worked for the Texas Department of Health as an analytical chemist for 4 years. She became certified as a chemistry teacher and since then has had much success with students involved in the AP program. Currently, she teaches AP Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry at Westlake High School in Austin, Texas. She has been a consultant for the College Board for 8 years doing numerous 1-day, 2-day, and summer institute presentations in the Southwest region of the country. She also does extensive work for AP Strategies and NMSI dealing directly with underachieving students by aiding in their AP exam preparation. Denise also spends 7 days each summer an an AP Reader, taking part in the grading of the AP Chemistry Exam.
